Tour Guide Jonathan Vandevoorde

Jonathan Vandevoorde (56, married, father of two) is not only the editor-in-chief of two outdoor magazines, but also a travel journalist, certified mountain hiking guide, and a passionate USA enthusiast and travel photographer. His reports frequently appear in publications such as Bergen Magazine (Dutch), newspapers in the Netherlands, Columbus Travel, and National Geographic Traveler (Netherlands/Belgium). He also gives engaging lectures on the American West, incorporating storytelling, music, and even drone photography.

In his early years, Jonathan worked full-time as a tour guide in the American Southwest, leading groups through its vast landscapes. Today, he specializes in organizing and guiding hiking and photography tours while also producing in-depth travel reports. His deep knowledge of the nature and history of the American West makes him a true expert on this spectacular region.

As a tour leader for Nature Talks, Jonathan meticulously adjusts planning and locations based on weather conditions, light, and the position of the sun and moon.
