A Tribute to Mother Earth

In the year 2019 Marsel van Oosten became Wildlife Photographer of the Year with a photo of two Golden Snub-nosed monkeys entitled ‘The Golden Couple’. An image that he’s not satisfied with at all. I am always very critical of my own work. I never think it’s good enough. Fifteen years ago he had a desk job as an art director. A very different kind of life!

During this world premiere, Marsel van Oosten gives us a preview of his new book that will be published next April. The book consists largely of his award-winning work, his most popular images, his personal favorites and many new and never-before-published photos. It is a combination of nature and landscape photography – both in color and in black and white. The depictions of exotic animals and undiscovered landscapes from five different continents are stunning.

But for Marsel this is not only a collection of beautiful photos. It is a visual tribute to Mother Earth and a warning that nature is under serious threat. Our attention is desperately needed! During his lecture, Marsel will discuss the conservation side of the images. With a number of images, he tells us how they were made using fascinating “behind the scenes” material. Make sure you don’t miss this lecture!
